Vitamins, herbs and nutritional supplements
Your practitioner may suggest certain remedies to handle deficiencies in your diet or to help solve health problems. Each clinic is stocked with products we have sourced from the very best sources. Some of these supplements are listed below.
Always take supplements with a full glass of water. Nutritional supplements are concentrated and can overburden the liver if not enough liquid is taken at the same time. Water helps absorption and is needed to aid in carrying the nutrients to the cells.
Remember, you can develop an intolerance to the ingredients in vitamins just as you can to foods. Learn to listen to your body. Given time, you will notice changes in your body and be able to identify the cause.
After the supplementation period is completed, decrease the dosages gradually so that the body has time to adjust.
Please note: It is our philosophy that supplements are not a replacement for a healthy diet.

Iron
Iron is an essential mineral that can affect how oxygen is carried in the blood. Iron-deficient people tire easily because their bodies do not get enough oxygen. Iron is particularly important for expectant mothers, athletes, women who have heavy or long periods and people with digestive malabsorbtion problems.
Iron deficiency is most often caused by insufficient intake. Deficiency symptoms include anemia, brittle hair, dizziness, fatigue, fragile bones, hair loss, nervousness, pallor and slowed mental reaction. Iron is required for a healthy immune system as well as for energy production.
Heavy bleeding, poor digestion, excessive tea or coffee consumption, strenuous exercise and heavy perspiration deplete iron from the body.
There are many foods and herbs that contain iron (eggs, fish, green leafy vegetables, beets, molasses, dandelion, liquorice, rasberry leaf). If you suffer from any of the symptoms above then talk to your practitioner. You may need to add some iron-rich foods to your diet or you may require a supplement to add to your intake of iron.

Magnesium
Magnesium is an essential mineral needed for bone, protein and fatty acid formation, vitamin B formation, muscle relaxation, cell formation, blood clotting and energy production. Magnesium can also help to lower blood presure (by relaxing the blood vessels).
Magnesium deficiencies can cause a multiple of health problems including loss of appetite, depression, listlessness, potassium depletion, abnormal heart rhythms, fatique.
Stress, caffeine, alcohol and sugar all increase the loss of magnesium from the body.

Vitamins
Like water, carbohydrates, protein and fats, vitamins and minerals are essential to life. They are nutrients that are needed in relatively small amounts.
A healthy person who is not suffering from any specific disorder should obtain the required vitamins and minerals from a well balanced diet of good food.
However, people who are active and exercise, those who are under stress, recovering from illness or surgery or under medication, smokers and those who consume alcohol will need higher than normal amounts of vitamins and nutrients.
Our supplements are sourced from the very best manufacturers in the country. You can’t buy them at your local supermarket: they are only available from a healthcare practitioner.

Calcium
Calcium and Magnesium Powder is far more absorbable than the tablets. We use it in the practice for anxiety, muscle spasms, insomnia, drug withdrawal and menstrual pain. These are just some of the applications of the product.
CALM is an original formulation combining different sources of calcium and magnesium – which work together in many body functions such as regulation of healthy blood functions such as regulation of healthy blood vessel tone and muscle contraction (including heart muscle) and are essential for the maintenance of a healthy body.
Magnesium plays a key role in energy metabolism and supplementation is beneficial to sports people and those with an active lifestyle.
Magnesium supplementation has been shown to relieve menstrual and premenstrual symptoms (PMS) including mood changes and breast tenderness.
Magnesium contributes to calcium balance by affecting the hormones which control calcium absorption and metabolism. Combined with calcium, it may have relaxing effects on both nerves and muscles.

Natural Antibiotics
The following paragraphs briefly describe some less well-known remedies. These are things we can use to resolve your particular body problem… or the problems your friends are suffering with.
Propolis
They do exist… we have several. For many years we have used a little-known remedy called “propolis” as an effective antibiotic made by bees. It is a substance the bees collect from the bark of the trees… especially poplars, horse chestnut, spruce, larch and other conifers.
The bees coat the doorway of their hives with this substance and it stops any infection getting inside the hive. The bees also brush against it going in and out of the hive thus protecting their home.
Propolis has been hospital-tested by numerous doctors over the years and it has been found to be effective against staphylococcus (throat-chest infections), salmonella (food poisoning) and E.colli (gastric infection).
External ulcers, such as leg ulcers, respond will to propolis as so internal ulcers in the mouth, oesophagus and stomach.
Propolis is particularly great for treating and warding off influenza.
There are no harmful side effects, and best of all, propolis does not kill off the “good” bacteria in the body. It also boosts the immune system and helps to build up each person’s resistance to infections.
Garlic
Garlic is another well-known natural antibiotic that is particularly effective for fighting colds, coughs and flu.
Echinacea
Echinacea is a herb well-publicised for its terrific Immune-building properties and its ability to handle upper-respiratory infection.
Grapefruit Seed Extract
Grapefruit Seed Extract is an excellent antibiotic, anti-fungal and anti-viral medicine. I discovered this medicine in America and I was so impressed with it’s effectiveness that we started a company (Citricidal Australia) to import it into Australia. We have received many letters from people who have successfully used Grapefruit Seed Extract for various types of infections.
Astragalus
And finally there’s the Chinese herb Astragalus that is also used extensively as a natural antibiotic and immune booster.
The effects of antibiotics on the body
Medical antibiotics not only kill the “bad” or harmful bacteria but also destroy the “good” intestinal bacteria. This often causes deficiencies of vitamins B1 and B12 and can considerably lower a person’s resistance to infection.
The destruction on the good intestinal bacteria is one of the major causes of the fungal infection Candida and vaginal thrush which plagues so many women these days.
We hope this information has been enlightening to you and alerts you to the fact we do have natural remedies for infections… remedies with all the benefits but without the harmful side effects.
