The Story of Two successes

I want to tell the story about two successes with Dr Nerida James  & the Natural Healing Centre.

In September 2007 my wife Margaret went to see Nerida at her Natural Healing Centre, because for about two years my wife had been suffering from over production of Mucus in her throat, we had been to several Doctors & Specialists over the preceding two years only to be told she has the problem for life, learn to live with it !!.

This is easier to say than to do, for both of us, with Margaret it was constant attempts to clear the throat because she felt she could not breathe properly with this problem & for me whereas I tried to be understanding of what Margaret was going through, has anybody sat beside someone clearing their throat basically 24 hours a day ?

In 2007 we decided to go on a trip of a lifetime around Australia, we managed to do the East Coast, Margaret clearing her throat all the way to Cooktown & return to Melbourne, I was very concerned because I did not know if the problem was very serious & did not want to take her into the Outback with limited Medical services if something went wrong, we enjoyed our trip but no where as much as we could if we didn’t have the problem with her throat.

Upon our return to Melbourne during a discussion it was suggested to go to see Dr Nerida James of the Natural Healing Centre, my wife went on the first occasion & was immediately impressed, & wanted me to go with her on the 2nd & further visits, I was the typical Sceptic , my wife then tried to talk me into some of the treatments, seeing I had suffered from Back Problems Specifically Sciatica for the past 5 years, I had learned to live with what I thought would be a problem for life, I had been to Doctors, Specialist, Physio & Osteopaths. Where they had given me some relief there was always this nagging pain where I could stand for any length of time plus many other discomforts.

January 2009;  We are about to finish our treatment with Nerida, I am 99% fixed very minor irritations now, I just have to listen to my Body.

Margaret has reduced her Mucus problem, which turned out to be due to several Allergies, we have had other treatments to fix other problems as well.

This was a total surprise to me as well as a complete relief for Margaret, we can now look forward to Travelling around Australia, With Both, Peace & Peace of Mind & not having to be worried about my Back problems (What Problems?) or Margaret forever clearing her throat, which at times became extremely inflamed due to the continual rasping effects of her attempting to clear it.

For this and all the treatment Dr. Nerida James has given us in the past 5 months we both sincerely thank her.

For returning our health & Sanity to us & allowing us to enjoy our retirement like we had planned.

To the Medical Profession in general, I would like you to open your minds to the possibility that there are others who may be capable of healing/treating things you may not be capable of.

In today’s world a good Medical Centre should consist of Medical Doctors, Naturopaths, Alternate Medical groups & Dieticians, None should think in this world today with all the chemicals & allergies that they alone can cure of offer Remedies.

Finally to Dr. Nerida James, Keep up the excellent work & practice you have created there are plenty of people who need your help.

Success Story – Leo Adams

My son Leo developed severe eczema as a young baby. By the time he was 4 months old, he had large, weeping patches on his cheeks and chin. He was fully breastfed as a baby, which meant that I had a suspicion his eczema was diet-related, as it flared up when I ate certain things. I began to eliminate suspected allergens from my diet, to see if his skin condition improved. I noticed that if I ate wheat, dairy, eggs, citrus, chilli, and a whole list of other things, Leo’s skin became worse, reddening, itching and weeping. If I did not eat these things, his skin was maintained at a base eczema level – still with some itching, sometimes flaring up for no discernible reason that I could see.

I took Leo to see our local GP, and although the weeping on his face was clear, with no discoloured discharge, he put Leo on a course of antibiotics immediately ‘just in case’ it was infected. No swab was taken, no follow-up made. I was offered a cortisone cream that I decided not to use after reading and researching the effects of cortisone on such young babies, and the possible links between extensive cortisone use and asthma in children with eczema.

I began to search for natural alternatives to Western eczema treatments. I visited Naturopaths, Acupuncturists and Homoeopaths, as well as Kinesiologists and a skin specialist who is Western trained, but who treats with diet and his own line of soaps and creams. While some of these could produce a reliable effect on Leo’s skin – ie: he flared up whenever certain things were done – none of them cleared his skin.

Over the next 2 ½ years I searched for a treatment that would not just ameliorate the symptoms Leo had, or suppress them, but something that would boost his health and assist his body in healing. I also continued to monitor my own and Leo’s diet, to try and ease the allergen load on his body. Eventually I heard of the NAET treatment, from another mother whose little boy had been as badly affected by eczema as Leo. She maintained that it was NAET that turned her boy’s condition around, and improved her family’s quality of life.

I should say at this point that our family was in crisis by this time. Leo was waking 7 or 8 times a night minimum due to the itching of his skin, and on a bad night would wake every 20 minutes. I was horribly sleep-deprived, which meant that I had little energy to give to my older daughter. My relationship with my husband was on fragile ground, as we both struggled to keep our family afloat. All of us suffered reduced quality of life. Driving anywhere over 20 mins away was impossible as Leo would scratch his legs, arms and face until they bled once he was in the car.

I eventually called the Natural Healing Centre. I began to see Maria Colosimo in Mitcham, but switched to seeing Nerida James in Ferny Creek later because it was closer to home. Within the first few treatments, both Leo and I could eat eggs and gluten again, which improved our diet and quality of life enormously. While the eczema on his body did not change markedly at the start, my measure of success was that he did not flare into worse eczema when we came into contact with the things that used to make him react.

Leo’s case was extreme – his legs were one mass of weeping eczema, and it also covered his wrists/arms, and face. He could not sit in water for a bath, nor could he play in a sandpit. Grass irritated his skin, as did the breeze if we were outside. His quality of life was abysmal – which affected all of us.

Over time, NAET produced results. Leo’s eczema gradually began to heal, and we could eat more varied things, and attempt small trips locally. Nerida advised us that we could use a low dose cortisone ointment in conjunction with NAET, which we then did – very sparingly.  Our sleep began to improve. NAET continually amazed me by what it was picking up that he reacted to, and the swiftness with which the reactions were turned around.  I was involved in the process too – I kept a watch for when he flared up, and worked backwards from the flare-up to see what was different, what he may have reacted to.  Cortisone ointment suppressed his rash, but as soon as I stopped using it (7 days on, 7 days off as directed by my pharmacist) the eczema reappeared. NAET was the only thing having an effect. It was a slow process, but it did work.

A year of NAET later, and Leo’s skin is totally clear. We have not used cortisone on his skin for 6 months, and do not even have any in the house as he eventually developed a severe allergic reaction to it, which we also treated with NAET.  Leo has no scarring, and no rough patches on his skin from the eczema. He is able to eat anything without an effect on his skin, and thoroughly enjoys playing outside, swimming in pools and the sea, and we can even eat out, both at friends’ houses and cafes, which we all enjoy!
